身分相応に暮らすということ [日記]
たぶん、バブルの頃からだと思うんだけど、日本に「成金」という言葉がなくなってしまったように思う。自分のお金をどう使ってもいいわけだけど、ある程度の節度は必要なんではないかと思う今日この頃。
バブルと同じころ（というと僕は大学生だったんだけども）、父の仕事もなかなか調子よかったみたい。成金って程は儲かっていないにしても、10年以上乗った一番下のグレードのブルーバード（営業車としてよく見かけたけど自家用車として乗ってる人は見たことなかった）を見て「もっといい車に乗ればいいのに」と思っていた。その頃、近所の農家の標準はクラウンだった。
そういう時、父はよく「身分相応」ということを言っていた。
結局、バブルは未来永劫続かなかった。父の質素で「身分相応」な生活のおかげで平穏に暮らせ、バブル崩壊後には父が正しかったんだなぁと実感した。
今、僕は身の丈にあった「身分相応」な暮らしができていると思う。馬具メーカーのブランドのバッグも亀山ブランドのテレビもないが、納得して暮らしていけるのが、父が残してくれた最大の財産だと思ってる。人間、欲望には限りがないからね。
最近、市役所の職員が公金を使い込んだっていうような、割と安定した職業の人がサラ金の返済に困って起こす事件をよく耳にするように思う。
公務員が何でサラ金に手を出さなくちゃいけなくなったのか、収入が決まってるのに何で返済計画がうまく行かないのか疑問に思う。

最近は大学生は比較的簡単にクレジットカードが作れるらしいが（僕の頃は丸井くらいしかダメだった気がする）それっておかしいと思う。
世の中「金融より投資だ」という時代になっているらしいが、それ以前に収入の中で慎ましやかに暮らすということを学校できちんと教えて欲しい、と思う今日この頃。
